My name is Amy Monette. I have been cooking for small and large audiences for nearly 50 years. The first thing I ever made all by myself was a batch of Nestle’s Toll House chocolate chip cookies using the directions off the back of the yellow bag. I was 8 years old and being closely supervised by my grandmother. I remember joy when my cookies turned out just like hers, and the excitement of sharing them with my family. That was the start of a life-long passion for preparing food well, thoughtfully and with the intent to share. Today, my cooking is an expression of my love, and a way to nurture and honor those most important in my life.
When I am not cooking or working at my day job, I am a wife, a mother, yogi, and hobby farmer. I reside on a one-acre property in the foothills of Reno, NV with my husband, dogs, cats, donkeys, goats, chickens and large gardens. I love a son who is a constant source of delight, amazement and motivation. He and my beloved sister EO (a fellow foodie) are the inspiration behind this blog. This blog is about the food I create, and the lifestyle that accompanies it.
